These were some of the questions we tried to tackle and find solutions to through various rounds of wireframes, interactive prototypes, and moderated user testing sessions. The findings from this user trial helped to build a case for intelligently deciding what network to put a user on based on their location rather than offload this stressful decision to our users.
In 2015, Republic added a new service provider in an effort to provide better coverage to its customers. That meant that we now had both CDMA and GSM network coverage. We wrestled with how to present this new option to our customers- should we have them choose their prefered network? How do we/should we educate our members on what CDMA or GSM network coverage means? Do they care? How do we intelligently decide what is the best option for them?
